Prime Minister visits Blue Mountains Campus

It was a privilege to have Prime Minister Chris Hipkins drop in and congratulate the LT McGuinness onsite construction team on the continued progress of our Blue Mountains Campus development this morning.

The Prime Minister was visiting KiwiRail’s new National Train Control Centre which is located in the campus and was built by the LTM team. The campus has been chosen as the Government’s first strategic regional hub, and it was great to showcase the transformation of the site since the Prime Minister’s previous visit last year.

The control centre is now fully operational with the KiwiRail control team based onsite, and the 5 Green Star design-certified Buddle Building is nearly complete, with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment set to join the campus later this year.

We are excited to be delivering this green, resilient, employee-focused hub in vibrant Upper Hutt and we look forward to continuing the journey with sustainable mass timber buildings planned for the next major phase of the campus.
