Xero House
Heritage office development, Wellington
The former John Chambers Building, now known as Xero House, was originally an engineering workshop constructed in 1918. Willis Bond refurbished and restrengthened the heritage-listed building in 2012 to create new commercial premises.
The building comprises around 3,300 square metres of office space, with the option to use the ground floor for retail, and was designed to allow sub-division if desired.
The refurbished building retains the distinctive flatiron plan, high ceilings, and exposed structure of the original. Windows have been placed at a high level and the floors raised to accommodate services and enhance views, whilst retaining the original character of the office space.
The building is fully leased to Xero, Trade Me and Morrison & Co and was sold in December 2012.
