PwC Centre, Wellington
Base-isolated office building in Wellington
The PwC Centre is a collaboration between Willis Bond, Athfield Architects, and construction partner LT McGuinness. Completed in 2018, this base-isolated office building sits in the heart of the regenerated Kumutoto Precinct, only a five-minute walk from Lambton Quay and Wellington's railway station.
The building's state-of-the-art base-isolated structure provides seismic performance equivalent to that required for hospitals and other essential emergency facilities.
The building comprises four upper levels of Grade A office space with high ceilings and very efficient 2,000sqm floor plates. All floors benefit from the building's extensively glazed facade, which maximises natural light and views of the harbour and city.
The ground floor incorporates a mix of retail, hospitality, smaller office units, and the main building lobby. A public walkway through the ground floor also provides covered pedestrian access between Waterloo Quay and the waterfront. Basement car parking is included.
Leading professional firm PwC has relocated its Wellington office onto levels three and four and has taken exclusive naming rights. Other corporate tenants include leading New Zealand rural insurer FMG, The Co-operative Bank, and insurer MAS.
Ground floor tenants include: Flamingo Joe’s, operated by Kāpura (with conferencing facilities upstairs); Black Doris Café; Mall Drycleaners; Capital City Motors; and co-working provider Digital Nomad.
