The former John Chambers Building was originally an engineering workshop constructed in 1918. Now heritage-listed, Willis Bond refurbished and restrengthened the building to create new commercial premises.
The building comprises around 3,300 square metres of office space. However, the ground floor is designed to incorporate both office and retail and is flexible in terms of subdivision depending on the requirements of tenants.
The refurbished Xero House retains the distinctive flatiron plan, high ceilings and exposed structure of the original building. As windows were placed at a high level, the floors were able to be raised to accommodate services and enhance views, retaining the existing character of the office space.
The building is fully leased to Xero, Trade Me and Morrison & Co and was sold in December 2012.
