Uninhabited for 22 years, the derelict former Odlins Building was acquired by Willis Bond in 2003. Willis Bond restored and refurbished the 1906 building – the only one of its kind left on the waterfront – strengthening its heritage façade and constructing a brand new building behind, as well as an underground car park below sea level.
The small 100 square metre ground floor retail space currently houses a gelateria.
4,645 square metres of office premises occupy levels 1 through 4 and part of the ground floor. These are leased to the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX), Trade Me, and Loyalty New Zealand. The NZX’s ticker tape enhances the building’s eye-catching façade.
The uppermost floors of the NZX Building house seven large, boutique apartments, each of which runs over either two or three levels.
